About: Nixon is a watch and accessories brand, founded in 1997 in Encinitas. Focused on the youth lifestyle market, Nixon’s range of custom-built products was first introduced via independent surf, skate, & snow shops. The brand’s range and popularity quickly grew to include distribution in specialty boutique and fashion stores. Today Nixon watches are sold in 80 countries worldwide.
Scope of Work: Nixon’s HQ is a varied landscape of unique settings that blend together work with play, play with innovation, and innovation with style. Ocio Design Group has led all four (4) major renovations at Nixon’s HQ since they moved to “the barn” in Encinitas 15 years ago. We implemented a creative office design in 2004 – a decade before “creative office” was even a “thing”. Nixon allowed us to get to know their business and staff intimately, which allowed us to tease out the essence of their brand and inject it into the design and flow of their space.
