Interior Designer/ Project Manager (II)
Seeking candidate with 5-8 years’ experience in commercial interior design with background in Tenant Improvement and Hospitality.
Designer/ Project Manager (II) scope of work:
-
Good communication skills with clients/ same day responses
-
Organized and able to track multiple projects at one time
-
Manage multiple support staff to meet deadlines
-
Manage all aspects of design process - Schematic/ Design Development/ ID drawings/ Detailing/ FF&E/ Specification/ ID set/ CA
-
Meet with Ocio Current Clients during project phase.
-
Manage architectural aspects of projects from verification of site/ ADA & UBC code/ Architectural drawings & detailing
-
Coordination with Contractor/ Engineers & Consultants through project until end of CA
-
City Submittal & Coordination with Drawings/ Team/ City Corrections for final approval
-
Construction Administration: Site visits/ RFI/ Shop drawings/ Punch walk
-
Manage project hours to stay with in budgeted time allotted
-
Maintain/ update with other PMs: Ocio’s ID/Architect drawing office standard
-
Train/ Mentor staff below you
-
Be aware/ distribute work to keep your team busy

Identify when team/ individual is not performing

Take Ownership of your work/ projects
Qualifications:
-
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
-
6-8 years of relevant interior design experience in commercial workplace

Advanced in AutoCAD/ Sketchup/ Photoshop

Office hours M thru F: 8am – 4:30pm (30 min for lunch)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Excel and Word
-
Proficient in FF&E documentation software (Spexx, etc.)

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently; attention to detail

Basic knowledge of building codes, ADA, building standards and the ability to resolved with assistance, complex technical and design issues

Ability to communicate design concepts and project information articulately and concisely to both the project team, vendors and the client

Know vendors, what they represent in products, where to find specific styles of flooring, tile, furniture, fabrics, lighting, wallcovering, etc.

Know operational and code needs: double rubs, fire code, stain guarding and ADA requirements

Contributes to and reinforces the “team effort” method of producing design projects

Pro-actively keeps design team/ project manager informed of work status and seeks clarification where appropriate
